Improvements to Public Transport

All bus stops along the route will be upgraded to include raised kerbs and tactile paving, along with clearways to allow buses to pull right up to the kerb, making it easier for everyone to get on and off the bus. RealTime information showing when buses are expected to arrive will also be added to key bus stops and bus stop shelters will be installed at some stops along Ecclesall Road.

All of the traffic signals and pedestrian crossings along the route will be upgraded to better co-ordinate with each other and include bus detection technology. This means that, where traffic conditions allow, buses will be given priority at traffic lights when they're running behind schedule to improve reliability, punctuality and journey times.
