Inbound road closures as part of Streetforce maintenance work (September 2009)

To improve road safety along Ecclesall Road, maintenance work to enhance the quality of the carriageway is now underway between Hunters Bar and Rosedale Road. Other improvements are also taking place, including dropped kerbs and tactile paving to make it easier for pedestrians to cross at junctions.

As part of this ongoing maintenance work, Ecclesall Road will be closed inbound from Hunters Bar to Broomgrove Road on the following:

• 7pm until midnight, Monday 7th September to Thursday 10th September.
• 7:30am until 5pm, Sunday 13th September.
• 7pm until midnight, Monday 14th September to Thursday 17th September.

During these times all inbound bus services will divert via Sharrow Vale Road and Cemetery Road. All normal inbound traffic will be diverted via Brocco Bank and Clarkehouse Road. Individual road closure arrangements for side roads are still to be confirmed.

Passengers are asked to use bus stops on the opposite side of Hunters Bar, or on Cemetery Road. All outbound services will continue to run as usual.

The services that will be affected by the closures are as follows:

Evenings (7th September – 10th September and 14th September – 17th September):

• First services 81, 82, 85, 86 and 272.
• Stagecoach services 83 and 88.
• TM Travel service 272.

Daytime (Sunday 13th September):

• First services 81, 82, 85, 86 and 272.
• Stagecoach service 284.
• TM Travel service 215.

While the works are separate to the Ecclesall Road Smart Route, Sheffield City Council wanted to make sure you were kept up to date to ensure that any disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.
