The Ecclesall Road Smart Route

Everyone who travels in and around Sheffield will know that Ecclesall Road is often very busy, with congestion and delays common for all road users. Sheffield City Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive are working to improve travel along Ecclesall Road.

This website is designed to:

• Give background to the road and explain how the Smart Routes concept can benefit Ecclesall Road;

• Give information about the previous consultation that took place in 2009 and the improvements that have taken place since;

• Provide information our planned and proposed improvements to the road; and

• Give you an opportunity to have your say on the proposed improvements.

By sharing your views and priorities, you can help to shape the changes along this busy route. Your views are very important as we work to improve Ecclesall Road for everyone, whether you travel on foot, by bike, by bus or by car.
