Key Transport Issues...

A heavily congested A630The A630 between Conisbrough and Doncaster is one of the most important roads serving Doncaster town centre and surrounding communities with up to 44,000 vehicles travelling along the route every day.

The popularity of the route means it is often heavily congested, particularly during the morning and evening peak periods. Studies by Doncaster Council have shown that traffic travelling towards Doncaster town centre will occasionally queue as far back as the A1(M) roundabout during the morning peak period.

As well as congestion from regular traffic, on average, approximately 80,000 passenger journeys are made on public transport along the route each week.

Bus operators that use the route have commented on a large and unpredictable variation in bus journey times, particularly when travelling along the busier sections of the route during the morning peak.

Traffic travelling along the A630 away from Doncaster town centre also regularly experiences heavy congestion during peak periods. We are looking to make improvements that will not only benefit inbound traffic, but those travelling out of town also.
