Latest NewsWorks to install pelican crossings (July 2 2010)

On July 2 2010 works will begin to install two pelican crossings on the A630 adjacent to Grosvenor Crescent and outside the Winning Post Public House.

These works will last approximately between 5 and 8 weeks to complete. To ensure the safety of the all road users and the work force, the following lane closures will apply:

Weeks 1 and 2: Inbound lane closures.
Weeks 3 and 4: Will require 2 lane closures, both inbound and outbound. These closures will take place seven days a week between the hours of 0700 and 1700.
Weeks 5 – 8: Outbound lane closures only. This four week length of closures may shorten due to extended working.

To ensure works along the route are completed as effectively as possible, the installation of the pelican crossings is being coordinated with M1 Gas alliance works. For approximately four weeks the exit slip roads of the A1 will also be closed for traffic management and safety purposes.
